In case you have a pigmentation you’re not happy with, keep reading – I will give you three options, which will help you out!

If you’re ready to do the waiting, you can just let your body and metabolism do the work. When pigmentation is done correctly by a professional, it fades away in 12-24 months depending on individual differences. Quality pigments dissolve naturally without leaving any residues.

“Always ask your professional, which pigment brand they use before the treatment.”

Got a great deal and cheap pigmentation? Red flag! It’s important to remember that professional work requires the use of quality products, which also reflects in the prices. Some artists may use cheaper pigments that often include iron oxides. The issue with iron oxides is that they stay on the skin even after the pigment tones have faded away. This results in (often orange colored) pigmentations that just won’t go away! Always ask your professional, which pigment brand they use before the treatment.

The second option is to cover the old pigmentation with a new one – however, it’s not always possible.

Firstly, if the pigmentation is done too deep, it’s possible the skin has formed scar tissue. Breaking the skin again to insert new pigments is not recommended. In addition to it being rough on the skin, scar tissue seldom holds on to new pigments easily, which means you may be left with no results or uneven pigmentation. This may also be the case with cover-ups even without scarring.

Secondly, the pigments must have faded enough for the new pigments to be visible without having to choose the darkest tone. It’s recommended to cover old pigmentations with Powder technique. This will take the pigments a bit further into the skin, which will promote better permanence and coverage for the new pigmentation.

Pigmentation removal with Color X.

If you want to get rid of the pigmentation for good, you can remove or lighten it with Color X Pigmentation Removal. Compared to costly and harsh laser treatments, Color X is affordable, gentle and effective.

Color X is a patented pigmentation removal method by Swiss Color and it’s based on lactic acids, which are also formed naturally in the body (i.e. in sore muscles after exercise). Color X creates an acid reaction in macrophages, which then release the pigments off the tissue. If the pigments have been set deep into the skin, small traces of the pigment may last on the skin after the treatment. However, in most cases the results are significant.
